چکیده

This paper develops omnibus tests for comparing cause-speciic hazard rates and cumulative incidence functions at speciied covariate levels. Conndence bands for the diierence and the ratio of two conditional cumulative incidence functions are also constructed. The omnibus test is formulated in terms of a test process given by a weighted diierence of estimates of cumulative cause-speciic hazard rates under Cox proportional hazards models. A simulation procedure is devised for sampling from the null distribution of the test process, leading to graphical and numerical techniques for detecting signiicant diierences in the risks. The approach is applied to a cohort study of type-speciic HIV infection rates.

Comparison of Random Survival Forests for Competing Risks and Regression Models in Determining Mortality Risk Factors in Breast Cancer Patients in Mahdieh Center, Hamedan, Iran

Introduction: Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women worldwide. Patients with cancer may die due to disease progression or other types of events. These different event types are called competing risks. This study aimed to determine the factors affecting the survival of patients with breast cancer using three different approaches: cause-specific hazards regression, subdistri...

Data-driven smooth tests for the martingale difference hypothesis

A general method for testing the martingale difference hypothesis is proposed. The new tests are data-driven smooth tests based on the principal components of certain marked empirical processes that are asymptotically distributionfree, with critical values that are already tabulated. The data-driven smooth tests are optimal in a semiparametric sense discussed in the paper, and they are robust t...

Sample Size Considerations for Multiple Comparison Procedures in ANOVA

Adequate sample sizes for omnibus ANOVA tests do not necessarily provide sufficient statistical power for post hoc multiple comparisons typically performed following a significant omnibus F test. Results reported support a comparison-of-most-interest approach for sample size determination in ANOVA based on effect sizes for multiple comparisons. Introduction The determination of an appropriate s...

A comparison of the millon behavioral medical diagnostic and millon behavioral health inventory with medical populations.

There is a lack of normative data on broadband omnibus types of personality tests with medical populations. In fact, the only two tests normed on medical populations are the Millon Behavioral Medicine Diagnostic (MBMD) and the Millon Behavioral Health Inventory (MBHI). The internal consistency, test-retest reliabilities, and validity studies of these instruments are reviewed and compared in an ...

Local and omnibus goodness-of-fit tests in classical measurement error models.

We consider functional measurement error models, i.e. models where covariates are measured with error and yet no distributional assumptions are made about the mismeasured variable. We propose and study a score-type local test and an orthogonal series-based, omnibus goodness-of-fit test in this context, where no likelihood function is available or calculated-i.e. all the tests are proposed in th...
